It all began in 2011 with one man and a dream.
-
Altın İnci Restaurant, builded in 1870. It was the first house at the Lapta region. Then other houses started to be build. The house used as a soup kitchen by Pagans and after as a pig farm. The owners was Turkish Cypriots Behçet CandaÅŸ and his wife Elmaziye CandaÅŸ from Limasol.
They ran a small grocery store until they passed away. Everyone in the region knows him as the owner of a little grocery and called him "Behçet Dayı".
For a period of time the house remained empty until 2010. The groom of Behçet CandaÅŸ, İskender Tunçkol, started a restoration work until he passes away at year 2016. Then the restoration process accomplished by his son Korhan Tunçkol.
The house started to be used as a holiday house until a new idea appears about the house to be a restaurant. From the beginning of 2019, legal procedures and construction works took place and now the Altın İnci Restaurant is open for customers from all over the world.
